If We Were a Movie

Rochelle Coleman has a clear plan for academic success, and beating Amira Rodriguez is part of it. A job at Horizon Cinemas should strengthen her college application, but it comes with an unwelcome surprise: Amira works there too, and she is Rochelle's boss. Spending time together at the historic Black-owned theater gives Rochelle reasons to reconsider her rival. Meanwhile, Horizon faces problems that threaten its future, and a series of suspicious incidents draws its employees into an investigation. As Rochelle and Amira work to protect the cinema, their competition begins to give way to a connection neither expected to find behind the concession counter.
