Trident Chronicles
The story
Guerline has grown up close to imperial power without expecting to wield it. When upheaval places the nineteen-year-old on the throne, she inherits a political order divided by suspicion and competing loyalties. Her love for Eva, a woman of lower status, cannot be separated from the choices she must now make as a ruler. Beyond the court, four witch clans stand between the empire and danger, although the people they protect do not necessarily trust them. Human conflict is only part of the threat gathering around Guerline’s new reign. With an ancient power stirring beneath the mountain, she must learn whom to trust while deciding what kind of sovereign she intends to become.
