Emma and the Love Spell

Emma Davidson is facing a summer she would very much like to rewrite. Her best friend, Avangeline, is moving away because her parents are divorcing, and Emma has never admitted that her feelings go beyond friendship. She also has a secret her own parents insist she conceal: she is a witch, with powers she cannot reliably control. A spell to make Avangeline’s parents love each other again seems like a solution to everything. Putting that idea into practice is considerably more complicated. Meredith Ireland’s middle-grade fantasy follows a Korean American adoptee juggling magic, a first crush and the limits of trying to fix other people’s lives.
