Drum Roll, Please

Melly joined band because her best friend Olivia wanted her there, but drumming has become something she loves for herself. Two weeks at Camp Rockaway should offer a chance to play music beneath the Michigan trees and spend time with her closest friend. Instead, the summer brings upheaval. Her parents have separated, Olivia is pulling away, and Melly develops unexpected feelings for another girl at camp. The confidence she finds behind a drum kit does not easily extend to these changes. Amid rehearsals and new relationships, she must learn to recognize what she wants and how to express it. Music becomes one way to navigate an increasingly noisy emotional world.
