Niki Hartling and Eva Caruso once fell in love across the fierce rivalry between Canadian and American hockey. Twelve years later, another Winter Olympics brings them together in different roles. Eva is pushing her battered body through what may be her final chance at gold. Niki, now a widowed mother, is coaching her national team while facing challenges inside and outside the locker room. The competition renews old pressures, but it also revives the attraction that neither career quite displaced. With little privacy and few people they feel able to trust, both women must consider whether love can survive the demands of hockey's most public stage.
