A wife of convenience seems like an efficient answer to the invitations and appearances overwhelming her schedule. Artist Sarah Young considers the proposal absurd, but painting is not paying her bills. Agreeing to act as a spouse for a limited number of hours could give her the financial breathing room to keep working. What begins as a practical arrangement becomes less predictable as they spend time together. Growing feelings challenge the terms they established, leaving both women to consider whether accepting a substitute for love has brought them unexpectedly close to it.
