Calling the Dead

Six months after Hurricane Katrina, Detective Sept Savoie is working in a city still marked by destruction and loss. The discovery of a brutalised body behind a well-known restaurant brings her into contact with its owner, Keegan Blanchard. Attraction grows between the women, but the evidence increasingly points toward Keegan, making their personal connection difficult to separate from the investigation. More deaths suggest that deserted neighbourhoods have become cover for a killer. Sept must work through the clues while confronting the ways the storm has changed her own life. Trusting Keegan could mean taking a dangerous risk, yet treating her only as a suspect becomes harder with every encounter.
