Annalise Finch is comfortable with her routines and the time she spends with her grandmother. Her grandmother is considerably less satisfied with Annalise’s romantic inactivity and encourages her to meet women. Brinley, a bartender who prefers to keep commitment at a distance, offers a practical solution: she can help Annalise learn how dating women works. What begins as an arrangement built around advice, experimentation, and an expectation of casual fun becomes harder to keep uncomplicated. Each woman has reasons for treating the lessons lightly, but their growing connection does not remain neatly within those limits. Annalise and Brinley must decide whether the rules that made the arrangement appealing still fit what they are beginning to feel.
