A cruise ship promises its passengers an escape, but the people working below deck know a different version of life at sea. Jamie joins the Sacramentum’s crew to investigate his sister’s disappearance and finds an ally in Vivian, who is trying to build a life away from her homophobic family. Their growing friendship becomes essential as the ship’s polished surface gives way to something much more dangerous. Vivian’s attraction to passenger Lily brings a romantic complication across the divide between guests and staff. Horror, comedy and the indignities of service work meet in a story where two queer young people must learn whom they can trust.
