In 1998, teenage video-store employee Hayley looks to the shelves around her for clues about becoming the person she wants to be. Coming out has raised questions that the movies do not always know how to answer. With her friends nearby and a crush on customer Jennifer making every interaction feel important, she attempts to turn borrowed cinematic wisdom into real-life confidence. This short-form Australian comedy puts a young lesbian’s awkward, hopeful self-discovery and first romantic steps at the heart of its story. Sapphic storyline: Hayley and Jennifer in season 1, the centre of this coming-of-age comedy.
