Morning television runs on the promise that familiar faces can make sense of the day. Behind those faces, a network workplace is crowded with ambition, competing loyalties and people deciding what they are willing to reveal. Bradley Jackson enters this world with a voice that does not fit neatly into its expectations, and her professional rise draws her into increasingly complicated personal choices. Her relationship with fellow journalist Laura Peterson becomes a substantial story in the series’ second and third seasons. Around them, colleagues negotiate power, reputation and the consequences of stories told in public. The drama follows what happens when the people delivering the news become part of it.
