Fugitives and outsiders are drawn into a conflict much larger than their own attempts to survive. In the world of Exandria, a powerful magical relic becomes the focus of dangerous competing interests, and a group of people carrying secrets must decide whether they can trust one another. Beauregard Lionett, a sharp-minded lesbian monk with a talent for investigation and a difficult relationship with authority, is one of the principal viewpoints in this animated adventure. Her story sits alongside those of the other future members of the Mighty Nein as their paths begin to converge. Queer characters are part of this first chapter, while its longer romantic journeys remain ahead.
