Political finance director Erica Myles treats access as a form of power, and recruiting escort Anna Garner appears to offer a useful way into somebody else’s private life. Their arrangement soon becomes harder to contain within the terms of a transaction. Attraction, strategy and dependence begin to pull in different directions, leaving both women to judge how much of the connection they can trust. This strand of the anthology’s second season centers a relationship between women while examining the systems that turn intimacy into leverage. A parallel story follows different characters, making it important to identify Erica and Anna’s episodes within the wider season rather than assume every installment shares their focus.
