Leila leaves a long relationship with Sadie, who has also been her business partner, and discovers that changing her living arrangements is much easier than changing how other people understand her. As an American in London, she must find new rhythms among friends, former partners and dates who all bring their own assumptions. Her exploration of bisexuality puts her at odds with an identity others thought was settled and with expectations she has helped maintain. The comedy stays close to the awkward practical details of intimacy, work and friendship. Leila and Sadie’s history remains central even as the single season allows Leila to imagine different kinds of future.
