A grieving writer becomes drawn into the life of a wealthy neighbour whose past carries disturbing questions. For Aggie, the prospect of understanding him offers both a creative obsession and a dangerous distraction from her own losses. Her fractured marriage to Shelley is part of the emotional history she brings into their increasingly uneasy connection. The psychological thriller centres a lesbian protagonist while following the risks of curiosity, proximity and the desire to make another person’s darkness explain something about your own.
