For the nurses and pilots working air ambulances across Northern Canada, distance can turn an emergency into a race against conditions they cannot control. SkyMed follows the people doing that work as they learn to trust their colleagues while managing their own ambitions, histories and relationships. Pilots Lexi Martine and Stef have a developed sapphic story within the ensemble, with their connection unfolding alongside the demands of the job. The series moves between high-stakes rescues and the personal consequences of living and working so closely together. Competence matters in the air, but the characters’ private decisions can be just as difficult to navigate once they are back on the ground.
