A changing group of French teenagers experiences school, family and friendship from a different central perspective each season. Lola’s story comes to the foreground in the sixth season, where grief and difficult coping habits leave her uncertain about how to let other people close. Her connection with Maya becomes part of the life she is trying to build. The ninth season later turns toward Maya, allowing the consequences of their relationship to be understood from another angle. The two seasons offer distinct sapphic entry points within the same ensemble, with room for desire, hurt and the work of discovering who you are beyond someone else’s expectations.
