Eight strangers discover that they can share thoughts, sensations and abilities across continents. Their unexpected connection offers comfort and extraordinary possibilities, but it also draws the attention of people determined to control them. In San Francisco, hacker Nomi Marks faces these dangers with the support of her girlfriend Amanita, whose commitment makes her an active part of the struggle rather than a distant love interest. Nomi’s life as a trans woman and the couple’s chosen community are meaningful parts of their story. Their relationship runs through both television seasons and the concluding special, providing one of the ensemble’s most sustained sources of intimacy, courage and mutual care.
