Grace, Clara and Rumi decide that the adults around them are not doing enough to confront wrongdoing at their school. Reviving the anonymous DGM group gives them a way to investigate, but it also adds another secret to lives already complicated by friendship and competition. For Rumi, a relationship with Jess introduces questions about honesty and what she wants beyond the cheer squad. Those choices matter alongside the mystery rather than serving as a brief distraction from it. The young ensemble must learn when loyalty means keeping a confidence and when it means telling the truth, even when either decision might cost them something they care about.
