Three neighbours turn their shared interest in true crime into an investigation when a death unsettles their New York apartment building. Charles, Oliver and Mabel make an unlikely team, combining curiosity with an often unreliable understanding of one another. In the second season, Mabel’s connection with artist Alice becomes part of her attempt to reclaim a life increasingly defined by public suspicion. Their romance adds a sapphic strand to that season’s mystery, while the series remains an ensemble comedy about secrets, friendship and the trouble with turning real lives into stories.
