In the 1920s, three women pursue professional pelota across Spain and Mexico while facing limits imposed on their ambition, money and personal freedom. Their careers bring them into a world where sporting success does not protect them from exploitation or social judgment. Itzi’s relationship with Ane develops within this ensemble, connecting desire with the compromises required to live under restrictive expectations. The series offers a sapphic principal character and recurring romance, alongside the stories of its other leading women.
