In a territory ruled by competing barons, trained fighters enforce a harsh social order while ordinary people struggle for safety. Sunny, a gifted warrior, begins to question the life that has made him valuable to those in power. Other characters pursue their own routes out of dependence, often discovering that rebellion can reproduce the same demands as obedience. Tilda grows up within that conflict, learning to distinguish loyalty from control. Her relationship with Odessa becomes an important part of her second- and third-season story as she considers what she wants beyond another leader's plans. The martial-arts fantasy combines elaborate combat with personal struggles over freedom, belonging and the cost of protection.
