An interview with a vampire becomes an account of desire, memory and the stories people tell to survive their own past. Louis de Pointe du Lac revisits the relationships that shaped his immortal life, including the complicated family he builds with Lestat and Claudia. In the second season, Claudia seeks a future that belongs to her rather than to the men who made decisions for her. Her connection with the French dressmaker Madeleine develops into a significant sapphic love story within the wider gothic drama. The series explores intimacy alongside manipulation, power and the limits of a family held together by need.
