Dr. Michelle Kessler offers a confidential space to people whose problems extend well beyond the ordinary difficulties of being human. In a society that knows supernatural beings exist but is far from accepting them, her patients carry dangerous secrets and complicated needs. Michelle approaches them with empathy, even as her own life reveals how difficult it can be to practise the honesty she encourages in others. Her marriage to Rachel gives the therapist's choices an intimate set of consequences outside the consulting room. This supernatural drama uses conversations rather than spectacle to explore alienation, responsibility and the wish to belong, with a bisexual woman at the centre of both the professional and personal story.
