A group of students turns school theatre into a full-time emotional occupation, with rehearsals, rivalries and relationships competing for the spotlight. The sapphic strand arrives in the third season, when Ashlyn begins recognising feelings that change how she understands herself. Summer-camp stage manager Maddox becomes an important part of that journey, and their connection develops further in the fourth season. The romance shares space with the musical ensemble but receives a genuine coming-out and relationship arc. Its relevant scope is seasons three and four, rather than Ashlyn’s earlier appearances or the original film franchise.
