Charlie Morningstar opens a hotel in Hell with the unlikely aim of helping sinners change enough to reach Heaven. Her optimism is tested by hostile institutions, unreliable guests and powerful figures with plans of their own. Vaggie, her girlfriend and closest ally, helps keep the project running while facing challenges connected to her own past. The adult animated musical centres Charlie’s redemption scheme, with her established relationship with Vaggie providing a continuing emotional anchor.
