A sports-radio host reluctantly joins a support group after losing his wife and finds that humour is no substitute for the work of mourning. The group’s members have little in common beyond loss, but their uneven attempts to help one another gradually become a source of connection. Anne, a sharp-edged lawyer grieving her own wife, develops an important friendship with Ryan while confronting what it would mean to date again. Brief encounters with Brittney and Talia explore that uncertain return to intimacy without erasing the relationship she has lost. The comedy finds its emotional centre in people learning to accept support without surrendering their individuality.
