The Morales cousins are trying to protect their family's taco shop while building lives that might take them beyond it. In a changing Los Angeles neighbourhood, ambition brings opportunities and uncomfortable questions about whose version of success will survive. Artist Ana Morales navigates those tensions alongside her relationship with Yessika, an activist whose commitment to the community does not always sit easily with Ana's professional possibilities. Their love has a place inside the wider family story, with work, loyalty and class shaping what they can ask of each other. The series gives Ana room to be a daughter, cousin, artist and queer woman at once, allowing her personal choices to remain connected to the neighbourhood around her.
