Lucy hopes a campaign for inclusive prom royalty will bring her closer to Miranda, the confident friend whose approval means more than she wants to admit. Becoming visible in a queer community, however, does not automatically make that community welcoming or equal. Lucy has to work out what she believes apart from the people she wants to impress. A later season follows student journalist Savannah as friendship, belonging and the integrity of her own voice come into conflict. Across its changing protagonists, the Canadian web series explores how race, class and queerness shape the experience of growing up, while refusing to make attraction a simple guarantee of acceptance.
