Mae, a comedian living in London, begins a relationship with George, a teacher whose romantic life has previously looked very different. Their attraction is immediate, but learning how to be together brings difficult questions about honesty, identity, dependency and the expectations each carries into intimacy. Mae's recovery and unresolved experiences make that process more complicated, while George must decide how openly to make space for their relationship. This intimate comedy-drama places the couple at the centre of its two-season story, finding humour without smoothing over their vulnerabilities. Mae is nonbinary, and the series allows that experience to develop alongside its exploration of queer love, self-understanding and the work of building a relationship.
