After her personal and professional lives unravel, lawyer Abigail Bianchi must rebuild her career at the Vancouver firm run by her estranged father. Working beside half-siblings she barely knows makes the office’s family-law cases uncomfortably close to home. Her younger half-sister Lucy brings a different set of pressures to the family: a marriage with Maggie, questions about parenthood and the difficult work of recognizing what she needs from a partner. Lucy’s relationships form a recurring sapphic storyline within the legal and family ensemble. The early seasons establish the marriage, while subsequent developments follow its consequences and the possibilities of a different future.
