At an exclusive Spanish school, money and reputation shape friendships that are already under pressure from desire, rivalry and violence. New arrivals change the balance of power as the students attempt to protect themselves and the people they love. Rebeka and Mencía’s relationship becomes an important part of the fourth and fifth seasons, bringing attraction, uncertainty and outside pressures into an ensemble built around secrets. Their story is substantial but belongs to a particular phase of the series as its cast changes over time. The romance should therefore be sought in those seasons, rather than assumed to run throughout the show’s complete eight-season history.
