Chicago residents make imperfect decisions about love, sex and the lives they want to share in an anthology that returns to some characters while introducing others. Among its recurring stories, Chase and Jo navigate the distance between attraction and the work of sustaining a relationship. Questions about authenticity, independence and what each woman needs from the other change as their lives move forward. A later connection with Alexandria adds another perspective on desire and commitment. Their story unfolds in selected episodes across three seasons, giving the romance room to develop without making every installment part of it. The series is best approached as a collection of intimate portraits, with this recurring sapphic thread clearly marked within the wider ensemble.
