A shared home in Oakland brings together queer friends whose ideas about commitment are anything but uniform. Alex wants to believe her relationship with Jackie is stable, while other connections expose what remains unresolved between them. Gin approaches dating with a different set of rules, only to find that keeping things casual does not prevent difficult feelings. The independent ensemble series gives its characters room to negotiate identity, work and community beyond a single coming-out story. Their romances are part of a wider network of friendship and mutual dependence, where people can be supportive one moment and deeply frustrating the next, without becoming less important to each other.
