In the American Southwest of the 1970s, a getaway driver's work for a criminal organisation becomes more dangerous when a determined federal agent arrives. The pursuit of a powerful crime family brings shifting loyalties, high-speed escapes and personal debts into collision. People trying to protect their own futures discover how little control they have over the machinery around them. Alongside the central crime investigation, Genesis Saxton's relationship with Daphne Salvatore creates a consequential sapphic thread in the first season, particularly around its middle episodes. Their romance is a supporting part of the ensemble and should not be attributed to the show's federal-agent lead.
