A crew of unlikely heroes travels through time attempting to repair history, usually while creating problems of its own. Sara Lance grows into a leader aboard the Waverider, balancing her responsibilities with a life that rarely follows an ordinary timetable. Her relationship with Time Bureau agent Ava Sharpe begins in the third season and becomes a sustained emotional center of the later series. Different working styles, extraordinary missions and the chaos of the crew test their partnership without making it separate from the adventure. Sara’s bisexuality and her long relationship with Ava give the superhero ensemble a substantial sapphic lead story across its later seasons.
