A group of FBI recruits enters training with different backgrounds and ideas about the work they are preparing to do. Their connections unfold across three timelines, linking an earlier period of possibility to later careers and a future shaped by powerful surveillance technology. Hour Nazari brings technical talent and a personal stake in questions about how institutions use information. As a lesbian woman, her place within the group and her longstanding feelings for fellow agent Poet add another layer to their shared history. The limited series follows the distance between youthful intentions and professional consequences, asking how much control people retain when systems begin to define the choices available to them.
