Leila is beginning to own her queerness while trying to find a way forward as a writer in Chicago. Her friend Patricia is an aspiring musician with a different relationship to commitment, and neither woman has a reliable plan for the future. Their friendship gives them room to be uncertain, even when advice is easier to offer than to follow. Leila’s romantic life develops within this everyday world of conversations, work and creative ambition. The short web series centers women of color without making their experiences interchangeable, finding intimacy in the ways they support and challenge each other as they negotiate desire, identity and the difficult business of growing up.
