Bright Summer Night

A house party on a hot New Zealand night becomes a temporary world of its own, drawing teenagers with different worries into a shared attempt to escape them. Puck moves through the gathering while friendships and attractions shift under the influence of performance, intoxication and unresolved disagreements. Lena, Deme and Mia are among those trying to understand what they want from one another without reducing themselves to someone else’s expectations. Inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the series changes perspective across its short episodes, allowing the same night to look different through each participant’s eyes. Queer relationships sit alongside questions about consent, responsibility and the comfort of pretending tomorrow can wait.
