Fairmont Crest offers its residents beautiful houses, comfortable lives and plenty of opportunities to keep secrets. At the centre of this affluent Maryland community, the Dupree family’s influence reaches through a network of relatives, lovers, neighbours and rivals. Their public standing does little to keep their private lives orderly. Chelsea Hamilton’s relationship with Madison Montgomery is one of the soap’s developed romantic stories, following the choices and complications that accompany a serious commitment. Around them, family expectations, professional ambitions and old grievances constantly rearrange the community’s alliances. This is an expansive ensemble drama in which a sapphic couple shares the stage with many other tangled lives.
