These animated specials return to the Land of Ooo to follow different characters beyond the original series. In Obsidian, Marceline and Princess Bubblegum travel to the Glass Kingdom when an old danger resurfaces. Saving the kingdom means revisiting a painful chapter of their own history and understanding how their relationship has changed. Their established partnership is the emotional center of this particular special. The other installments follow different leads, so the sapphic focus belongs specifically to Obsidian, not all four adventures.
