Juliet Capulet has survived her famous love story in a form she never chose: as a vampire, carrying the memory of Romeo across centuries. Meeting Farryn on the Greek islands begins to disturb the emotional distance she has used to endure that existence. The younger woman offers a connection to the present, but becoming close means confronting the demands of Juliet’s vampire family and its powerful patriarch. Love has already brought Juliet into conflict with family expectations once, and the possibility of repeating that history gives the new relationship an uneasy urgency. Ronnie Khalil’s fantasy romance reimagines a familiar literary figure as a woman trying to decide whether the risk of attachment can still make an endless life worth living.
