Lily Pierce has tried to build an adult life beyond the trauma of her childhood, but a threatening presence keeps drawing her back toward the past. With encouragement from her girlfriend Willow and her therapist, she reconnects with her estranged father, a former history professor whose own life has become increasingly isolated. His knowledge of medieval weapons offers an unexpected approach to the thing haunting her family. As Lily prepares to confront it, she must also face the grief and damage surrounding her mother’s death. This psychological fantasy-horror film centres a woman in a same-sex relationship while following her attempt to distinguish inherited fear from the power to fight for herself.
