Jackie and Jules travel to a secluded lakeside house to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The setting promises time away from ordinary demands, with space to enjoy the landscape and each other’s company. As the visit continues, however, details about Jackie’s past begin changing the atmosphere between them. Familiar gestures become harder to read, and the isolation that first seemed romantic starts feeling like a threat. Colin Minihan’s thriller places a marriage between two women at the centre of a survival story, using the distance from outside help to sharpen questions of trust. Its shifting understanding of the couple is part of the suspense, so the discoveries that transform their getaway are best left unrevealed.
