As a storm approaches, Melissa shelters in the bathroom with her parents and younger brother. When the family finds itself unable to leave, their cramped refuge becomes a place of escalating fear and conflict. Outside, unfamiliar sounds suggest that the damage may extend far beyond their home. Inside, resentment makes cooperation increasingly fragile. Melissa has another reason to dread what is happening: memories of her girlfriend Amy and an experiment they undertook together leave her wondering whether the catastrophe is connected to something they set in motion. The film alternates the family’s confinement with the intimacy and anxiety of that relationship, turning an ordinary domestic space into the centre of a possibly much larger nightmare.
