Fariba flees Iran after her relationship with a woman puts her in danger, only to find that seeking asylum in Germany offers no simple route to safety. To avoid deportation, she takes on another person’s identity and begins living under circumstances that require constant vigilance. Work in a small town brings her close to Anne, whose attention creates the possibility of intimacy inside a life organised around concealment. As their attraction grows, Fariba must weigh the need to be known against the risks of discovery. The film follows a lesbian refugee navigating borders, bureaucracy and desire without confusing her imposed disguise with her own identity.
