Katja and Isabella have built a life together and want to become parents. Expecting that determination and a stable relationship will be enough to begin, they encounter medical rules, practical barriers and assumptions about which families should exist. When conventional fertility routes become difficult to access, they explore alternatives that bring new uncertainties into their home. What began as a shared plan gradually becomes a test of patience, money and the different ways each woman understands commitment. Anne Zohra Berrached’s intimate drama stays close to the everyday decisions behind a seemingly straightforward wish. As the search for a donor grows more demanding, the couple must confront not only obstacles outside their relationship but the strain of discovering that they may not want the same path forward.
