Emilia arrives at her aunt Inés’s remote hostel near the border between Argentina and Brazil, searching for a brother whose absence has left questions she cannot settle. The humid landscape seems to hold its own secrets. Local stories describe a creature moving through the forest, while the adults around her offer more uncertainty than reassurance. Meeting Julieth opens another kind of possibility, drawing Emilia toward desires that complicate her search for family and belonging. The border becomes a place where familiar categories begin to loosen: between countries, between memory and myth, and between the person Emilia has been and the one she might become. Her journey moves through unease toward an emerging sense of her own agency.
