As a child, Melanie loses her confidence at a piano audition after an interruption by a celebrated musician on the jury. Years later, she enters that pianist's household and gradually becomes essential to her professional life. Ariane is preparing for a demanding performance and finds reassurance in Melanie's apparently calm devotion. Dependence develops into attraction, while Melanie's reasons for staying close remain difficult to read. Denis Dercourt's thriller builds its tension through domestic courtesy and the quiet exchange of power between the women. A role that appears entirely supportive gives Melanie access to the person whose carelessness once changed her own future.
