For decades, Chela and Chiquita have shared a home in Asunción and the comforts of a life sustained by inherited wealth. Now possessions are being sold, debts are pressing in, and their carefully maintained world is becoming harder to protect. When Chiquita is imprisoned, the quieter Chela has to manage unfamiliar responsibilities alone. Offering lifts to local women becomes an unexpected source of income and a reason to venture beyond the house. Through these journeys she meets Angy, whose confidence unsettles and attracts her. Marcelo Martinessi’s intimate drama follows a woman discovering how much of her life has been arranged around habit, and how a change she never wanted might make room for desires she has barely acknowledged.
